How to make your first Fiverr gig sale

You’ve diligently moused through the site. You’ve compiled a bunch of gigs you know you can do quickly. And now you’re waiting on the sidelines, hoping to be noticed while the hipsters get all the good gigs.
It’s Fiverr Wallflower Syndrome.
FWS can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. You may be the cool mom who serves martinis to your teen’s friends after school. But that cuts you no slack on Fiverr.
If you’ve got FWS, what can you do?
Put a video on your gig. Don’t be one of those dorks who puts up a photo of Johnny Depp, unless you actually are Johnny Depp. The world wants to see you in action. A single mom of our acquaintance went for six months without a single sale. She added a video to a gig and bam! Four sales in three days. We don’t care if you look like Bobba Fett. (Actually, that might be a plus.) Make a video. Do it. Your smartphone — you know, the one you never read the manual for — makes videos. Your computer’s got a camera and it makes videos. Your blender makes videos. The four year old next door makes videos. Do it.
Nice vid. Now you’ve got room for a couple of photos, so add a photo of yourself. No, not the one where you got drunk on daiquiris at Applebee’s and threw up on your neighbor’s lawn. Save that for Facebook.

I’ve never sold any services on Fiverr, but I’ve browsed it as a buyer before and I agree about the pictures. I’d much rather deal with a face than with a cartoon or something.

I guess I was lucky. After just a week as a member I got 6 sales. From there they just never stopped coming. I’m now over 40 sales in just 2 weeks.

Do videos still help out sales as much? i’ve been trying to get some sales and i’m hardly getting any veiws! I’m selling backlinks. I’m even offering a bonus to my first customers.

I was wondering on a similar note,, There’s no shortcut to getting featured on Fiverr. No amount of cash will squeeze you onto the first page in your chosen category. You have to put in the work. This is about ‘the work’
