One way is to email us and ask, which is just what Ellie (flaminpitojello) did. She offers a fun, truly useful and humorous service on Fiverr: Drawing whatever you dream up, no matter how wacky. We liked her picture of a female T. Rex clutching a tiny handbag.
She says, “It is true that I haven’t had any formal training in art. I had considered it, but I didn’t want to work in the field so I went to school for biotechnology and then gravitated back to art some time after graduating. Out of school I had more time to experiment with different art techniques, and was just looking to improve my skill level.
“I first heard of Fiverr on a show on G4′s network, and thought it looked like a great way to get more practice in subject matter which I wouldn’t think to attempt on my own. I think I’ve been on Fiverr for about a year, but it hasn’t been until recently I’ve gotten a substantial volume of orders. I think a major difficulty for sellers is getting initial orders placed if they don’t have a plethora of feedback and ratings.
“Aside from that minor speed bump I’ve had a really positive experience on Fiverr, and have met a lot of great people who were looking for coloring pages, cards, tattoo concepts, and once an order for the likeness of two people riding a giant flying cat, naked, in front of a rainbow. That’s probably an effective example of an image I would not have thought of.”
